With a sigh of relief, Steven Barret of MFEM, the procurement manager for the Pacific Mini Games received some containers with the weightlifting stage and other sports equipment.
Steve was spotted with a load of tennis table equipment on the back of the MFEM utility truck on Monday afternoon.
Also on the wharf are 11 containers full of beds, mattresses and pillows as well as bedding sheets and pillow cases purchased through CITC.
According to coordinator Tania Temata they have to be transported off the wharf to be devanned ready to supply the schools designated as accommodators for the games.
Expected next week are a 20 foot container with more sports equipment, a 40 foot container full of athletics equipment, another 20 foot container containing boxing rings plus one other containing assorted games equipment and materials.
These are being carried by a ship chartered specifically for the Cook Islands and the mini games since the original vessel caught fire in New Zealand.
The containers were sent to Fiji where the charter ship picked them up for transfer to the Cook Islands.
