The Object of the Association was
And still is to promote and encourage
the game of netball, adhering to the
Christian purpose.
About the Association
The Golden City Netball Association has been a major netball body in
Bendigo for the past 48 years. The Association conducts netball matches
For all age groups from Grade 3 onwards. During Winter, competitions are
Run on Saturdays, and in Summer Twilight Competitions are run on
Wednesday evenings at the West Bendigo Sporting Complex outdoor
Netball courts, Marong Rd.Bendigo. The Association is administered
solely by volunteers and caters for approximately 2000 members per year.
The outdoor complex is completely maintained by the association from it’s
members fees.
Saturday Winter Competition
The Saturday Competition is run from April until September each year. It
Caters for Open age, 21/Under, 17/Under, 14/Under and Primary Division.
The Primary Division consists of school teams divided into 13/Under,
11/Under (No finals), and Grade 3 clinic for beginners.
Wednesday Twilight Competition
The Twilight Competition begins in September and ends mid December,
And has been steadily growing over the past few years. It caters for
21/Under Girls, 17/Under Girls and Mixed, 14/Under Girls and Mixed,
Primary 13/Under Girls and Mixed, and 11/Under (No Finals).
Umpiring
All Competition matches are Umpired by the teams who are rostered on.
Umpiring clinics are run each year and practice sessions are run each
Saturday from 12pm – 1pm.
Tournaments
In May each year, GoldenCity hosts its Annual Tournament. Ages include
17/Under, 15/Under and 13/Under. This tournament is open to all
Associations and teams within these Associations.
