Game 6 – Fiji vs Samoa
The final game of competition features Fiji vs Samoa. Both teams have an array of speed and agility making quite a deadly combination and a tough game. Samoa to kick off into Fiji territory with the game controlled by Ref: Robert Bowen from Australia. He will be ably assisted by Sean Willis & Tavake Manuel from the Cook Islands. A beautiful 20 metre break was made by No 1. Seruvi Ralulu of Fiji into Samoa territory. Samoa responded by capitalizing on the minor errors by Fiji through a try to No 13. Tupu Ulufale. The conversion was unsuccessful, however Samoa still took the lead of 4 points to Nil. Fiji built up momentum which eventually paid off with a try through No. 12 Lolesio Iosefo leveling the scores to 4-4. Samoa continued to persist and were rewarded with a try to No. 6 Tanielu Pasgne putting Samoa into the lead 8-4. Fiji responded with a try to their captain No. 2 Nemani Valekapa which was successfully converted. Half time score being Fiji lead Samoa 10 -8.
The second half proved a battle between the two teams with constant possession within each other’s territory. Fiji successfully scored the 1st try back into the second half through No 8. Luke Osborne taking Fiji to a lead of 14 – 8. Continued persistence and consistency saw Samoa fight back which was rewarded with a successful try to No. 13 Tupu Ulufale of Samoa taking the score to 14 - 12. Fiji kept up the momentum to allow No 8. Luke Osborne through to score his 2nd try of the game which was successfully converted taking the lead to 20 - 14. Samoa continued to persist and pursue forward to score right on full time through No. 7 Tom Iosefo leveling the score to 20 -20. The final score at full time was 20 -20.
