The final against Wellington turned ouit to be a torrid affair, with torrential wind and rain. Our boys trailed at half time by 1-point after kicking into the breeze, but they were close enough to power home, keeping the Wellingtonians scoreless in the second half. The final score was
Cobras 3 7 25 to Wellington 1 3 9
Congratulations to all involved, from our funding team of Eddie Cropley and Stephen Langridge, to our coach, Harry Petrson and strapper Jason Beck.
MVP for the tournament was Melbourne based Cantabrian, Steven Howard. The coaches MVP for the Cobras was another Melbourne based player and ex st. Bedes student, Andrew Howison.
Our sponsors came to the fore and without them we would not have been able to get our lads there and looking as sharp as they did. Thanks to the Air Rescue Trust, Mainland Foundation, the STREAM group, the NZ Community Trust and the Youth Town Trust.
Next year's tournament will be held in Canterbury, so look out!
