We hope that everyone has kept well during the COVID break.  Registrations for the summer season are now open and in line with Basketball SA and COVID policies there have been a number of changes to the process.

The registration process will be in 2 stages.  PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU READ ALL BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING YOUR TEAM

 

SENIOR COMPETITIONS – SUMMER 2020/21

With the ongoing situation with COVID-19, and the shortage of available court space, we have had to make a number of changes for the summer season.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Team registrations will be limited to a number that will fit within the available 15 time slots on a Monday night.

Team nominations will close at 6:00pm, Wednesday 30^th September.

Senior team nominations for teams using one of our Club’s names or uniforms will only be accepted from the Club concerned. 

All team nominations must be done via the Barossa Basketball website portal https://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi?c=1-4983-0-0-0&assoc=4983 and a full list of players proposing, and a colour image of the teams uniform, to play for the team emailed to basketballbarossa@bigpond.com using the form available on our website.

Nominations received will be reviewed and successful teams will be notified on Sunday October 4^th of the competition that they have been allocated to.  This will be based on overall nominations, competition requirements and the information provided to the Association.

Team players will then have until Saturday 10^th October to register to their team.

KEY CHANGES TO COMPETITION RUNNING

To facilitate social distancing and other COVID requirements

• Players are to arrive no more than 10 minutes before their game and not to move to the court area until the teams from the previous game have left the court.
• Teams are to vacate the court area as soon as their games have been completed
• All players are to sanitise their hands before and after the game
• Only 1 ball to be brought to the court area per team
• Each team is required to provide a dedicated scorer 14 years of age or older. The scorer cannot be a player, coach or team manager.  Only 2 persons allowed at each score table.
• Game timing will be by 4 x 8 minutes quarters with a running clock.  Time between quarters will be 1 minute after quarters 1 and 3 and 2 minutes at half time.

SEASON DATES AND FEES

Attached is a schedule of match dates for the full summer season.  The season is scheduled for 14 rounds commencing Monday 12^th October 2020 and end with the Grand Finals on Sunday 28^th March 2021.

Player registration fees will be $64.95 comprising

               BA and Basketball SA Annual Fee              $20.47   This includes insurance and runs from 1/10/2020 to 30/09/2021

               SA Country Affiliation fee                            $30.48 this covers the period from 1/10/2020 to 30/09/2021

               BVABA Season Fee                                        $14.00   this fee is for the summer season only and includes the SportsTG $1.00 processing fee

Match fees per game remain unchanged at $60.00 per team.

Forfeit fees remain unchanged.
