Buddy Beauty at Eureka Stadium Ballarat!
The AFL has announced that Hawthorn will meet North Melbourne in the NAB Challenge at Eureka Stadium Ballarat, this Saturday, March 6 at 2pm. Whilst the Ballarat crowd are hoping to see locals Drew Petrie and Brad Sewell take to the field, there is no doubt that all local footy fans will be hoping Hawthorn star Buddy Franklin makes the trip up the Western Freeway.
After surprising 2009 premiers Geelong, the Kangaroos lost to Fremantle in a thriller tonight at Etihad Stadium, whilst the Hawks were humbled by a rampaging Barry Hall and the doggies on Friday night. The hawks are one of the form sides of the competition and the Kangaroos are emerging with a developing side under the guidance of new coach, Bard Scott. Whether the “Buddy Show” rolls into town or not AFL fans will be salivating at the prospect of these two teams going head-to-head.
After playing two intra-club matches already this year at Eureka Stadium, the Kangaroo’s can almost claim home-ground advantage and it’s sure to further their relationship with the City of Ballarat.
Mark Patterson, CEO, North Ballarat Football Club said it was great to have the Kangaroos back at Eureka Stadium and is excited by the presence of the hawks.
“Buddy Franklin is one of the most exciting players in the AFL, so to have him here would be fantastic! Regardless, we are set for a fantastic match up and a great spectacle, I urge all football fans to get along!” Said Mr Patterson.
Pre-sale tickets are available from 10am Monday from the North Ballarat Sports Club.
