The Speed Field Days Mallee Football League is looking very good as round nine kicks off.
Hopetoun Vs Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers
Hopetoun will play at home against Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers. In their previous match, the Tigers were victorious in a great game at Sea Lake. The Tigers got away with a good start and the Devils tried hard to close the gap but unfortunately they couldn’t get there. Hopetoun had the bye last week. Their previous match saw them have a fantastic win over the Lakers. Young gun Lucas Cook was outstanding kicking 4 goals for the Devils. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers’ last game was also against Jeparit/Rainbow. The Tigers had good and bad quarters but were pretty happy with the win. Hopetoun are within 2 points of making the top four on the ladder so they need the win to ensure finals. With a bit determination, the Devils should win Saturday’s game against the Tigers.
Jeparit/Rainbow Vs Walpeup/Underbool
Walpeup/Underbool will play against Jeparit/Rainbow at Jeparit this week. Their last match saw the Roos have a strong win over the Lakers by 161 points. Jeparit/Rainbow’s last match was against Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers. The Lakers had good and bad quarters which caused the team a disappointing loss. Walpeup/Underbool had a terrific comeback in the last quarter of their match against Beulah. They fought hard all fourth term and finished the match with an even score. The Roos’ Josh Charles was excellent booting 4 goals for his team. Walpeup/Underbool have been having a tremendous season and should win their match this week.
Ouyen United Vs Beulah
Ouyen United should have a very hard match this week as they play Beulah at Ouyen. The last time these two teams played each other, the game was close. So close that the result ended in one point to the Demons. Ouyen United had their last game playing Woomelang/Lascelles at Woomelang. The Cats tried hard all four quarters but the Demons were just too good. Beulah had a tough match against Walpeup/Underbool. The Blues lead most of the way until the last quarter when the Roos fought back to make the score even. Jacob Percy played very well kicking 4 goals for Beulah. Ouyen United should account for the Blues in what will be a very tough match.
Woomelang/Lascelles have the bye.
