The last round of the home and away season in the Speed Field Days Mallee Football League was filled with wet weather football.
BEULAH v. SEA LAKE NANDALY TIGERS
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers had a good win against Beulah at Beulah. Wet weather made for low scoring and scrappy play. The Tigers kicked 3 goals and 2 points in the first quarter to the Blues 1 goal and 4 points. The second quarter was quite even as both sides kicked 3 goals each. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers backline was strong through the third quarter only letting Beulah get 1 points. The last quarter was strong by the Tigers kicking 4 goals to the Blues 1 goal. The final score was Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers 12 goals and 8 points to Beulah 5 goals and 7 points. The Tigers’ Corey Stadon was strong in the backline. Tom Summerhayes, Col Durie and Scott Weekley were all excellent in the mid-field. Mark Williams worked hard for the Blues. Brendan McCredden and Jonathon Dixon kept trying all match. Dale Shannon was good in the mid-field.
JEPARIT RAINBOW v. WOOMELANG LASCELLES
Jeparit/Rainbow won in their match against Woomelang/Lascelles. The Lakers started well scoring 4 goals and 5 points to the Cats 2 goals. Woomelang/Lascelles played well in the second quarter catching back to Jeparit/Rainbow. They kicked 3 goals and 3 points to the Lakers 2 goals and 2 points. The Lakers got away in the third quarter kicking 3 goals and 3 points to the Cats 4 points. The last quarter was hard fought by both sides. Woomelang/Lascelles kicked 3 goals and 2 points to Jeparit/Rainbow 2 goals and 2 points however, it was not enough to get the game back. In the end, Jeparit/Rainbow 11 goals and 12 points defeated 8 goals and 9 points. Ash Clugston finished his season on a high getting the best for the Lakers. Heath Clugston, Luke Werner and Luke Price were all strong for the Lakers. Joel Donnan was once again best for the Cats. Travis James, Trent Donnan and Jay Robins all played well.
HOPETOUN v. WALPEUP UNDERBOOL
Walpeup/Underbool had a big win against Hopetoun on Saturday. The first quarter saw the Devils get a great start kicking 4 goals and 1 point to the Roos 2 goals and 4 points. The second quarter was strong by Walpeup/Underbool. They booted 8 goals and 4 points to Hopetoun 3 goals and 2 points. The Devils never scored in the third quarter while Walpeup/Underbool scored 6 goals and 6 points. The Roos finished the game in great form kicking 3 goals and 3 points to the Devils 1 points. Josh Charles was outstanding for Wapeup/Underbool. Mick Parmer was good kicking 6 goals for the Roos. Josh stone and James Wakefield strong all match. Owen Hone tried hard all match for the Devils Jordan Phelan, Coleman Schache and Darcy Jones all worked hard.
