Beulah Vs Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers
A stiff south wind greeted the Tigers when they arrived at Beulah but they welcomed the challenge and banged on 4 goals into the wind to the Blues solitary one to open the game. The second quarter was an avalanche by the tigers kicking 7 goals with the wind, that had the Blues making changes but at half time the tigers led 11 goals 2 to Beulah 2 goals 1. The third quarter saw Blues big man Step Saunders step up in the ruck working hard to give his running players a lift and with Jacob Percy their only dangerous forward they managed to win the quarter 4 goals to the Tigers 3. But it was all too late as the Tigers finished all over the blues with more options in attack to win 20 goals 8 to 7 goals 9. Liam Barry played well and Joe Summerhayes and Matt Witney were solid in defense. Terry Cox showed experience and skill in defence and attack. Otherwise a very polished team performance. BeulahâÂÂs big man Steph Saunders worked tirelessly for the blues with support from Tyler Lehman and Jeremy Moore while Jacob Percy played well up forward.
Jeparit Rainbow Vs Woomelang Lascelles
Jeparit Rainbow got away to a flyer against Woomelang Lascelles in the first quarter kicking 7 goals straight to the Cats 2 goals 1. On top in the mid field and with big Ben Jochinke up forward it was the start they needed. The second term saw the cats fight back to stem the flow but it was all in vain as the Lakers come out in the third term kicking 5 goals 8 behinds to the Cats 3 points. The Cats never recovered from that quarter and in the end the last was an even contest. Heath and Ash Clugston played great games for Jeparit Rainbow along with Lucas Edelsten, Brett Fisher and Jayden Werner. Ben Jochinke kicked 6 goals up forward. For the Cats Royce Free continued on with his good form this year kicking 3 goals to finish best with Joel Donnan Bryce Scott and Tony Mudge contributing all day.
Hopetoun Vs Walpeup Underbool
Hopetoun played host to Walpeup Underbool but it was the Roos who felt more at home kicking out to a 4 goal lead at the end on the first quarter. Another 6 goals to HopetounâÂÂs single goal in the second and the signs were not looking good for the Devils. The Roos had goal scoring options in the midfield as well as up forward. With Kane Munro in good touch the Hopetoun backs were under constant pressure but the Devils gave it everything in the 3rd quarter to hold at 3 goals each. In the last quarter it was all the Roos as they banged 9 majors to the Devils 1 to finish 24 goals 7 to 7 goals 9. Kane Munro kick 8 goals for the Roos while Lucas Puckle 3 goals for the Devils. Jim Wakefield was solid for the Roos all day and was well supported by Luke Nathan and Matt Lynch. Kyle Gainsford, Stephen Hallam, Jordan Phelan and Quentin Jones all tried hard for Hopetoun but the Roos were too good on the day.
