NZ Over 40 Men's player Chance Ahsin scored first for Canterbury after some bustling play down the middle created space and time to make his magic. Canterbury's Mike D and Corey Grant (brother of Scott) were also in on the action early with Mr D scoring.
Harbour responded to the challenge almost immediately, spinning the ball through quick hands and eventually finding DJ Barclay for the touchdown.
Ahsin scored once more though and kept Canterbury a safe distance in the lead.
A Harbour longball special saw them peg back a touchdown but just as soon as they'd finished celebrating Canterbury pulled out a helmet play and the scores were 4-2.
The teams then traded Touchdowns; Lincoln Faleauto and Lama Saga for Harbour produced fine displays of skill to keep their team in it but Canterbury were up to the task and went into halftime 5-4 up.
Mikey D continued to torment the Harbour line in the second half, crossing twice and seemingly being everywhere that mattered.
Canterbury pulled away as the half progressed but Harbour held in their through some strong counter-attacking play including a sterling effort from Clayton Thompson.
In the end though, then South Islanders had too much firepower and organisation and ran out 9-7 winners in an entertaining end to the 2013 Masters National Touch Championship.
