Round 3 of "Tyrepower Young" Championships held at Young. With the weather in the clubs favour and the track in great condition, riders travelled from near and far to compete for their place on the podium. A great turn up of riders and many competing in 2nd classes, made an actioned packed day.
"A highlight for me at all race meets is watching the Nippers taking on the whoops, corners, ruts and just being children and having fun" said Club treasurer Melissa Brownlie. "It means a lot to see children taking active part in sport today and the smiles on their faces make all the effort worthwhile, it is also great to see the Club rewarding all our Nippers with a trophy at every race meet. It encourages participation in sport without the emphasis on winning".
The Club holds it's race meetings at "Bunyarra" which is located 10kms from Young on the Henry Lawson Way. The track is a 1.3km dirt track amongst hills and rural scenery. Interested riders and parents who would like to see if motocross is for them, should come out to the track and watch the racing trackside. Catering for riders of all ages and both male and females, the club always welcomes new riders to the sport. With fun and safety a priority, motocross racing is an exciting participant and spectator sport.
The next scheduled race meet is round 4 which will be held on Sunday 2nd July. Just a reminder to all members of the club, that we seek assistance at our working bees. These days are essential to complete necessary maintenance to both track and facilities to provide every thing the best way possible. Working bees are held on the Saturday prior to the race meets and start at 12noon. Next working Bee will be Saturday 1st July with Round 4 Racing on Sunday 2nd July 2017.
