What's happening in basketball
Since we have been in lockdown see below what SHBA have been doing to be ready for the start of basketball in Swan Hill once restrictions are lifted:-

Thank you to those who have offered to take on roles to get basketball up & running especially at these times. SHBA always welcomes volunteers who want to help basketball bounce back as the summer sport in the Swan Hill Community.
Domestic Competition positions such as grade co-ordinators (some grades have already been filled), coaches, team mangers etc. will be followed up in the coming weeks.
Squad coaches have been appointed & try outs will be advised once restrictions are lifted. Details are found in the tab Swan Hill Flyers.
A Winter Competition was organised for an August start then restrictions came in place putting a halt to games a week before starting. Taking the positives from this we had alot of interest from players & support of parents to get back into basketball which looks promising for our summer season.
Domestic Comp usually starts in October each year & currently we are still under governement restrictions & SHBA will be guided by Basketball Victoria when basketball competitions can return. SHBA has been updating and preparing ways we can safely run a competition with dates to be released soon. This competition will look different to previous seasons & we will need volunteer help to get our kids back being active and playing basketball.
Registrations will be on a new platform this season called Play HQ. Dates when registrations open will be advised shortly. New scoring laptops have been purchased by SHBA which needed to be updated.
Swan Hill Basketball Tournament has been cancelled this October due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Stadium Renovations have been happening during lockdown & it looks great. Can't wait to get back into the stadium & shoot hoops again.
