NEWS: Geelong Region Men’s Division 1 – Round 2 Preview

LOOKING ahead to Round 2 of the Geelong Region Men’s Division 1 this coming weekend, the Surfside Waves will kick off proceedings when they host Breakwater Eagles SC on Friday night at Ocean Grove’s Shell Road Reserve.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back strongly after both were defeated in their respective opening round clashes last week. Kick-off is scheduled for 7.30pm,

Also on Friday night, Barwon Heads SC will travel to Bell Park to take on newly promoted Corio SC at Hume Reserve, with the match starting at 8.30pm.

On Sunday afternoon, Lara United will play Drysdale SC in the battle of the opening round winners at Lara Recreation Reserve at 1.00pm. Lara commenced their 2018 campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over Barwon Heads, while Drysdale did the same in their 2-1 triumph over Surfside Waves.

At Grovedale Reserve, Surfcoast FC will take on Barwon SC at 3pm. The Coasters will be keen to come back from their 1-2 defeat at the hands of Corio last week.

Wrapping up the round, Geelong Rangers will host Deakin Ducks at Myers Reserve. Early season championship favourites Rangers will be hoping to continue their strong start to the season. Kick off is set down for 3pm.
