Cobram and Cobram Victory are coachless as the North Eastern Soccer League sides hunt for new leadership for their men's and women's teams next year.

After an acrimonious process at the start of the year in which both teams failed to merge, Cobram and Victory missed the finals in the men's and women's senior competitions.

Cobram president Domenic Tedesco filled the Tigers' coaching role for the season, while Katamatite's English cricket recruit Daniel Yarnley hasn't had his one-year deal to coach Victory extended.

Victory president Tony Startari said the club and Yarnley only ever agreed to a oneyear coaching arrangement with both parties at the time believing Yarnley would return home next winter.

"Even if he does stay in Australia now we will be searching for a new coach," Startari said.

Startari refused to speculate on where Victory's new coach would be recruited from.

"Right now the way the league decides to restructure its age groups next year will influence which coach gets which team," he said.

In a major boost to the hopes of both sides the clubs' leading players will return to play on next season.

Cobram's league best and fairest winner Karl Fannon and midfielder Sandy Emmanule have committed to another season with the Tigers, while Victory's Melbourne-based players will also stay with the club.

Startari said goalscorer Frank Bazzano and defender Seb Fichera had signalled their intentions to continue with Victory.

Cobram's season hit rock bottom when a player shortage saw it forfeit its seniors away to Hanwood, but field a reserves side instead.

Tedesco was confident his side had put those days behind it as it looked to rebuild.

"We're delighted that Karl and Sandy have committed to coming back and having another season with the club," Tedesco said.

"It gives us something to build around.

"I don't think the club can just fork out for Melbourne-based players.

"Where we will look to build our team will be within a closer area to Cobram."
