Cobram Victory is looking to hit Shepparton South with a smarter and more creative style when the teams face off in Goulburn North East Football Association on Sunday.

Victory comes into the game off the back of a 1-0 defeat against Shepparton United where it struggled to put shots on the target, while South returns from the bye last weekend.

Men's division one is still very much sorting itself out after two rounds, with six teams all on three points while Tatura and Numurkah share the bottom two places on zero each.

Victory coach Simon Randall said his team did not play a style conducive to the windy conditions at Central Park last week and paid the price as it searched for an equaliser against United.

``I want more ball movement and less running with the ball. Last week we played as individuals,'' Randall said.

Looking for inspiration in the forward half will get that bit more difficult for Victory after Michael Startari was ruled out after confirmation the injury he suffered in round one against Tatura was fractured ribs.

But Nathan Thomas will return for Victory after missing last week with Ovens and Murray Football League commitments.

South coach Paul Amadei said his team had been working on its passing and would look to win out in the midfield.

``The 50-50 balls will win or lose any game, any contest in the middle of the part of the field,'' Amadei said.

The Victory-South match will be played at Barooga Recreation Reserve on Sunday, Cobram had played its round one encounter against Tatura at Scott Oval in Cobram.

In other round three matches, Shepparton hosts Cobram and Kialla United is at home to Tatura.

Shepparton United and Numurkah have the bye.
