Back in Hundt

Karlo Hundt is back coaching Cobram Soccer Club after a decade out of the role as his team prepares to take on Cobram Victory on Sunday.

Hundt's most recent match in charge was the 1997 grand final, the last time the Tigers made it to the season's biggest match.

Cobram player Jonathan Tedesco was a teenager on the bench at Mercury Dve on grand final day in 1997, but couldn't remember much about the game.

``It would be great to go back to a grand final and go the full circle,'' Tedesco, now 26, said.

``It is a bit weird having Karlo back as coach 10 years after he was last in charge.

``I don't remember a great deal about that grand final, I was far too excited about the day itself to really take it in.''

Summer soccer

Shepparton's prospects of fielding a senior men's team in the proposed zone summer competition will become clearer as Football Federation Victoria releases more of its strategic plan next week.

Federation executive Mark Rendell and board member Nick Monteleone will present the finalised strategic plan for Victorian soccer to the Goulburn North-East zone at Goulburn Ovens TAFE from 6.45pm to 9pm on Thursday, April 10.

The summer zone competition for boys and girls under-12, under-14 and under-16 as well as open women and men is proposed to start in November, but infrastructure and financial details are still to be released.

The state federation has stipulated that the meeting is open to club representatives only.

Clubs must RSVP their attendance to Belinda Wilson on 94741809 or bwilson@footballfedvic.com.au prior to the meeting.
