Players hit by cards

SOCCER: Shepparton South and Shepparton United will be without key players for their North Eastern Soccer League match on Sunday.

South's Connor Campbell was sent off for two yellow-card offences against Cobram Victory at the weekend and will sit out the game, United's Craig Smith was also carded twice and will miss.

South will regain defender Luke Nardella after a one-week suspension for accumulating three yellow cards this season, while Bruce Hogg will also come back after missing Shepparton United's match against Tatura for the same reason.

Tatura will have Adrian Corbo available for its match against Shepparton after serving a one-match suspension for three yellows, but Cobram's Dhiya Al-Mugotir still has one match of his suspension left to serve.

Al-Mugotir will miss the Tigers' match against Cobram Victory this weekend, Victory will be without its play maker Frank Bazzano after the midfielder picked up his third yellow card of the season against Shepparton South at the weekend.

No joy at games

Zac Paraskevas and Andrew Kyriakou played for the under-13 boys, Kyriakou as captain.

But the boys couldn't post a win at the week-long tournament, losing all five games they played.

The boys started the week with a 1-0 loss to CFA Helix, lost 2-0 to NSW Country, 2-0 to South Australia B, 4-0 to Victoria Metro, 8-0 to NSW Metro and 2-1 to South Australia R.

Shepparton South player Zoe Courtney represented the under-13 girls, who got off to a slow start, but managed to win their penultimate game.

The girls started the tournament with a 7-0 defeat against NSW Metro, then followed it up with a 2-0 loss to NSW Country, 2-0 loss to Victoria Metro, 2-0 loss to South Australia under-14s, before defeating NSW Country 1-0.

The girls then finished the tournament with a rematch against NSW Metro, losing 2-0.
