Welcome Home - Kevin Davis
The Chambers Franklyn Joondalup City Wolves have today announced the signing of 2015 Champion and two-time club MVP Kevin Davis to the 2019 Men’s roster.
The athletically gifted Davis, or ‘KD’ as he is known to the Wolfpack, is a true fan favourite and one of the most explosive and consistent big men in the League in recent years. His spectacular aerial antics matched with defensive intensity and rebounding are all considered hallmarks of his game, proving key assets for the Wolves.
Originally recruited back in 2015 by the Wolves from his home state of Washington, USA, Davis made an immediate impact in the WA SBL, debuting with a triple-double, and taking the League by storm in that Championship season.
His performances have remained impressively consistent and powerful in the time following, including multiple All-Star appearances, selection in several SBL All-Defensive teams, plus many other accolades for eye-catching performances.
The club’s List Management Group, in conjunction with the Men’s team coaching staff, saw critical fit and significant value in securing KD’s signature, bringing home the popular and enigmatic figure who tasted 2015 Championship success with several athletes who still remain on the club’s roster.
Men’s Head Coach Ben Ettridge, a long-time Davis advocate, feels that the time is particularly right to bring KD home, now at HBF Arena, having him in green and re-joining the Wolfpack roster.
“KD is a super athlete who understands our game style, having previously flourished in it. Our group are excited to welcome him home, back to the Pack, and we all look forward to him having a huge year for us in 2019” Ettridge said.
Kevin Davis is selected as the club’s first Men’s import signing for the 2019 season, recruited in support of the unrestricted and internationally experienced Earnest Ross. The club expects to make further list announcements soon.
The Joondalup Wolves aspire to be the ‘destination of choice for Basketball’ in WA and currently have more than 4,000 members, a new Wolfpack stadium at HBF Arena and have won a total of x9 Championships between their Men’s and Women’s SBL teams since incorporation.
