Wolves make mid-season adjustments

The
Chambers Franklyn Joondalup City Wolves women’s team are pleased to announce two additions to the 2019 roster, welcoming USA athletes Andee Ritter and Jasmine Martin.

The Wolves have made the roster additions in response to the unfortunate news that marquee Kayla Steindl has succumbed to a season-ending back injury, forcing her from the court in 2019.

Ritter arrives direct from a stellar NCAA Division 1 College career with UC Irvine, where she holds the school’s all-time records for both 3PTs made and steals.

The versatile 6-footer will travel to Australia immediately and will add a genuine perimeter punch alongside her defensive mindset.

Martin will be familiar to SBL fans, having recently spent two seasons at the Warwick Senators in a scoring guard role. The former Quinnipiac women's basketball program standout averaged 13.5pts and 3.5reb per game during the 2018 SBL season.

Charles Nix caught up with Wolves media this week to discuss the scenario and the changes.

“Whilst these roster changes have been somewhat forced upon us, I am very happy with how responsive and adaptive we have been as a program to the scenario, and we all hope Kayla can recover and get back to her outstanding best in 2020” Nix said.

Ritter and Martin will both suit up for their Wolves debut on Saturday June 15, when the Wolves contest the Magic in Mandurah, from 5.00pm.
