Wolfpack Welcomes New Competition & Programs Manager

 

 

 

 

 

The Wanneroo Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen De Wet to the position of Competition & Programs Manager. Stephen comes to the WBA with a wealth of experience in Competition Management, Administration and Operations in both Basketball and Football (soccer).

Stephen has previously spent 5 years at Basketball WA where he held various roles including Competitions Officer before moving to Football West in 2020. Stephen was involved in the running of all Basketball WA competitions including WABL, State and Country Championships, SBL and the Senior Domestic League known as the PMBL. At Football West as Competition and Operations Officer, Stephen delivered both senior and junior competitions and the National Premier League.

Stephen holds a Diploma in Sports Management as well as being a registered “Advance Management User” of Sports TG.

Wanneroo Basketball CEO Andrew Summerville said “Stephen will be a fantastic addition to our Association. He knows the sport, knows how to run competitions and has intimate knowledge of how the sport is administered by the governing body. There are only a handful of people in the state with the Sports TG and competition management experience that Stephen has so we are thrilled he is joining us”.

•              Bookings Officer – Basketball WA

•              Bookings Officer – University of WA Sport and Recreation

•              Administration Assistant – University of WA Sport and Recreation

Stephen replaces Leanne Govorko who announced her resignation in May. We thank Leanne for everything she has done at the WBA and wish her well in her future endeavours.

Stephen will commence his duties at the WBA in early July. Please joins us in welcoming Stephen to the Wolfpack.
