Wolfpack Welcomes Coaching Coordinator

The Wanneroo Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Jesse Pence to the position of Coaching Coordinator. Jesse comes to the Wolfpack after a successful coaching career in the USA and Australia.

Jesse is a great basketball mind and is extremely passionate about working with players and coaches to improve the game.

Jesse will work with our domestic and WABL coaches to help implement the association wide curriculum and deliver player and coach development opportunities. This will include running our new Domestic Coach Education sessions, new programs such as DDP, WABL coach mentoring, holiday camps, coach accreditation, schools programs and our elite player development sessions. Jesse will work closely with our Player & Coach Development Manager and Basketball Development Coordinator to ensure all levels of players and coaches are included in the WBA pathways.

Jesse’s Experience includes:

  • Southern Tigers NBL1 - Associate Head Coach
  • Southern Tigers Basketball Association - Domestic League Coordinator
  • Immanuel College – Head Coach
  • SA Metro High Performance Program (HPP) – Assistant Coach
  • Galena High School (USA) – Associate Head Coach
  • Sierra Nevada Basketball (USA) – Junior Development Officer
  • Damonte Ranch High School (USA) – Head Coach

WBA CEO, Andrew Summerville had this to say about Jesse joining the association:

“With the growth we are currently experiencing, we knew it was vital to invest in the coach and player development areas of our club. With our size it is impossible for newly appointed Player & Coach Development Manager, David Morrell to be everywhere so having Jesse assist him in coach and player education and deliver new programs such as DDP means more opportunity for our members to get access to our basketball staff and increase the services we offer.”

With Jesse joining Player & Coach Development Manager, David Morrell and Basketball Development Coordinator, Jonathan Wade, we now have a team of staff working in the basketball development space.

When asked about his move to the Wolves, Jesse said, “I am excited to work with such an illustrious club and explore a beautiful area of the world. I am looking forward to being part of a professional culture. I am blessed to be able to continue my basketball journey while assisting in the journey of others. I can’t wait to build relationships and foster the love of basketball.”

Jesse will commence his duties in the coming weeks.
