Another Junior - Nichols - Signs with the Wolves

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of Wolves junior, Kyah Nichols, for the 2022 NBL1 West season!

Kyah has had a very successful basketball journey all throughout her juniors; most recently competing with the 2022 U18’s BWA State Performance Program. She was also the winner of the 2021 WABL U16’s Wolfpack Way award – exemplifying the fact that she is a great teammate, a hard worker, and a very coachable player. This long and athletic 16-year-old has lots of exciting potential and Wolfpack fans will be sure to enjoy watching her growth as she continues her journey with the NBL1 West Wolves team this year.

When asked about her signing with the Wolves Kyah said,

“I'm ecstatic with getting this opportunity to be involved with the Wolves NBL1 team this season. I've been a Wolves junior since I began basketball and I’m so grateful to be developed into the player I've become at this club. This season really excites me, as the squad is filled with excellent coaches who have chosen to believe in me, and a bunch of talented players who are all going to help develop and mentor me through this season!”

New NBL1 Women’s Head Coach, Marcus Wong, shared his thoughts on Kyah’s signing,

“Kyah is one of two under 18 players joining our squad in 2022, following our goal to bring our own juniors through into our senior program. Coming off an Under 18 state campaign we are looking forward to integrating Kyah into our full squad. She has the ability to play from the perimeter but defend inside when required and this together with her length provides versatility to the group. The 2022 NBL1 season is a great opportunity for her to learn and grow as a player and I am sure we will see her have a long and successful career for the Wolves at NBL1.”

Kyah will be joining Teige Morrell, Neseya Parker-Williams, Chelsea Belcher, Tia Ucich, Shani Caldwell, Kiara Phillips, Laniesha Paddon, Akim Lual, Olivia Basso, Aryaan Horne, Hannah Duncan, Grace Tavelli, Keisha Chng and Jasmine Kirby on the 2022 Wolves Women’s roster.
