15U & 17U MEN'S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 3 RECAP

15U MEN

Alberta 56 – New Brunswick 50

Alberta earned their first win in the championship by getting by New Brunswick, 56-50.

Alberta’s offence was led by Marvin Washington who shot 5-of-7 from the field for 13 points, while Mitchell Barthal recorded 10 rebounds and 8 points in the victory.

Matthew Brown scored 11 points, while Keegan Gray grabbed 11 rebounds and Julian Roache notched 10 rebounds for New Brunswick.

Saskatchewan 65 – Newfoundland 55

Saskatchewan was able to improve their record to 2-1, as they were able to down Newfoundland 65-55.

Eric Forbes scored 15 points and was followed by Chan Da Ciman’s 11 points and 7 rebounds on their route to victory over Newfoundland.

Newfoundland had three scoreres in double digits; Liam Dunphy (15), Brett Warren (12) and Cola Long (10).

Manitoba 64 – P.E.I. 51

Manitoba earned their first win at the National Championship by beating P.E.I. 64-51.

Torrez Mckoy led the charge for Manitoba as he scored 22 points and chipped in with 7 rebounds.

P.E.I.’s Brayden notched a double-double by scoring 11 points and added 12 rebounds in the losing cause.

Quebec 86 – Nova Scotia 63

Quebec have now won two in a row after losing their opening game of the tournament. Quebec took care of business in front of the home crowd by winning 86-63 over Nova Scotia.

Quebec was led by Ethan Gabart-Doyon who scored 20 points and added 5 rebounds, while his teammate Jarome Desrosiers scored 19 and recorded 8 rebounds.

Lindall Wigginton led the way for Nova Scotia by scoring 13 and Andrew Beaulieu grabbed 7 rebounds.

17U MEN

Ontario 111 – British Columbia 53

Team Ontario was able to get by British Columbia comfortably as Ontario won 111-53.

The Ontario Team had a balance attack as seven players scored in double digits; Brody Clarke (15), Tyrell Bellot-Green (15), Juwan Miller (14), Devonte Campbell (13), Marcus Lewis (13), Chris McComber (11) and Connor Gilmore (10).

Elijah Hillis-Gold led British Columbia with 13 points in the game.

Newfoundland 53 – New Brunswick 85

New Brunswick improved their record to 2-1 after downing Newfoundland 85-53.

Daniel Luton had a very efficient game by going 9-of-10 from the field and scoring 18 points in the game.

Newfoundland was led by Stephen Ryan who scored 14 points and added 6 rebounds in the loss.

Saskatchewan 82 – P.E.I. 62

Saskatchewan improved their record to 2-1 after cruising to a 20 point victory over P.E.I.

Saskatchewan’s Atlee Simon scored 26 points and added 9 rebounds, while Ryan Delwo notched 13 points in the game against P.E.I.

Mark Matheson led the charge for P.E.I. by scoring 16 points and adding 8 rebounds.

Manitoba 81 – Northwest Territories 22

Manitoba stayed undefeated by defeating Northwest Territories 81-22 to close day 3 in Sherbrooke.

Malik Irwin had a dominating performance by scoring 23 points and adding 15 rebounds for a double-double against Northwest Territories.

Northwest Territories was led by Laurent Isaiah who scored 10 points and added 8 rebounds against Manitoba.
