On Tuesday 6th September 2011 all the AFL Brisbane Juniors Umpires attended the end of year awards ceremony which was held at the fabulous Kedron Wavell Services Club. Was a great night had by all with Award winners and nominees deserving their time in the spotlight. I would like to thank all umpires for the season we have had and look forward to seeing you all again in 2012.

The Junior Umpire Encouragement Award is in recognition of the effort made by a Junior Umpire to develop their all-round Umpiring abilities. This person, who already has a wonderful approach to umpiring, is prepared to readily take advice, is responsive to performance feedback and demonstrates great potential to succeed in umpiring.

The Junior Umpire Coaches Award has been awarded to the Umpire who has shown exceptional application at training and who has maintained a very high level of continuous improvement in all aspects of Umpiring. They willingly and enthusiastically assist coaching and support staff in promoting the development of Junior Umpiring.
This Umpire is also given the opportunity to umpire at Half Time of this Year’s AFL Grand Final in Melbourne.
