Media Update – NZ Blitz day 1 Results
The Brisbane Capitals have gone 1 and 1 in their first trip to Wellington after beating the 0800 Easy LPG Hawks and then finishing second to ecogise Nelson Giants outfit. The Giants new import John Barber Jnr was the stand out player in the win over Brisbane with a game high 20 points. Barber Jnr showed impressive range from beyond the arc and was equally strong inside.
On Court 2 the Youthtown Auckland Stars had a win and loss after being beaten by McDonalds Manawatu Jets and then narrowly edging out the new boys in the league the Christchurch Cougars. The Jets Aidan Daly followed up his 17 points against the Saints with 17 against the Stars. For the Stars import Blagoj Janev and local Hayden Allen impressed with both players reaching double figures in each game.
