The 2009 Geelong & District Football season has come to an end with victory to the East Geelong Football club in the Smiths Holden Cup. In front of a huge crowd and in a District League first, which saw the game broadcast live on Channek 31, the Eagles were too big for Bell Post Hill.

In the A Grade netball, Thomson stole a last minute victory from Werribee Centrals with a 2 goal victory in the Blood Suzuki Cup.

In the reserves football Corio were victorious over Bell Post Hill and in the Under 18's North Geelong accounted for Bannockburn to become Premiers and Champions, whilst over at the Netball, Werribee Centrals took out the B and C Grade and East Geelong the D Grade. In the 17 & Under Inverleigh were premiers, 15 & Under East Geelong and Bannockburn in the 13 & Under.
