Please find attached the 2011 Maryborough Castlemaine District FNL Fixture and revised match day starting times. Next years fixture has numerous exciting components as the league expands to 14 teams with Navarre FNC, Natte Bealiba FNC and Lexton FNC joining the MCDFNL.
The clubs voted unanimously to change from a final 5 format to a final 8 format in 2011 (in line with the AFL Finals Format) which the league views as a very exciting initiative. This will provide 8 teams with a chance to play finals football & netball across each level, but at the same time reward the teams which finish in the top 4 with these teams now receiving a double chance.
The league is looking forward to the extra grade of junior football and netball in 2011. The league will have 4 football competitions (2 senior and 2 junior) along with 6 netball competitions (3 senior and 3 junior) from next 2011 onwards. As part of these inclusions the match day start times for both football and netball have been slightly adjusted. In addition to this, 2 night fixtures and 2 twilight fixtures will be played in the opening 5 rounds of the season. These matches have been assigned modified match starting times.
