Ongos wins KSHL 16 Under All Star Game

After taking the lead at the end of the first half, team Ongos All Stars went all the way to beat Ngebard All Stars, 83-74 in the Koror State Hamlet League (KSHL) 16 and Under All Star Game, last August 12 at the Palau National gym.

Ray Rumong and Cody Ngiraungil led the scoring chores for Ongos All Stars with identical 19 baskets while Marvic Ngchar carried the load for Ngebard with 28 on the losing end.

Ongos All Stars was composed of RB Dorado, Edward Baysa, Ngirblush Tmetuchl, Chris Okabe, Ray Rumong, O’Brian Ngemaes, Solang Williams, Cody Ngiraungil, Tyller Otel, Johnny Sumang, Hayden Ngiralmuut and Besul Beches with Ziske Asanuma as head coach and Kevin Keltner as assistant coach.

Ngebard All Stars comprised of Oscar Page, Marvic Ngchar, Medremel Yaouch, Shonty Ybedai, Zymon Asido, Edwin Yaoch, Wells “CD” Ongldobel, Orion Anderson, Ryan Utemai, R'raem Termeteet, Dillon Nagata and Ngiratis Tellames with Jesse Sumor and Cullen Carlson as head coaches with Quincy Burse as assistant coach.

The game will identified players for next year’s 17 and Under National Squad from which a team shall be selected to compete in the MBT for 17 and Under in Saipan.  By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
