Meda, Rainmakers shine in Etpison Cup 3-on-3 cagefest

Teams Meda and Rainmakers shared the spotlight as they won their respective divisions in the just concluded Etpison Cup 3-on-3 basketball tournament played at the parking lot of the Drop Off Bar and Grill.

Team Meda coached by O’brian Ngemaes Jr. defeated team Abunai, 16-11 to win the 12 years old and Under co-ed division. Meda composed of Kato, Tabesuul and Hayden showed their flashy moves as they outclassed team Abunai which had Ian Areal and Chris, which settled for second runner-up.

In the 18 years old and under co-ed category, team Rainmakers won over OKC, 49-38 to win the crown. Rainmakers is composed of RB Dorado, Losi and Trever while team OKC is composed of Marvic Ngchar, Carnie and Ngirblas.

A total of six teams saw action in the event that includes the Avengers, OKC, Neco Marine, Rainmakers, Yellow Fin and Bill Fish.

The event, which was supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF), served also as a fundraising for team Palau to the men’s and women’s 17 and Under Western Division of the Micronesia Youth Basketball Tournament which will be held in CNMI from May 21 to 26.  By Peter Erick L.
