Money humbles Kryptonite in WNBL

Team Money met little resistance as they went on to beat Sam’s Kryptonite, 71-41 Thursday night in the 2013 Surangel and Sons Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) at the Palau National gym.

Money controlled the tempo of the game as they took a 16-12 lead in the first quarter and went on to outscore Kryptonite in the second with a 16-8 run to take a 32-20 lead. From there, Money never looked back as they took the win.

Tara Tamakong topscored for Money with 21 as teammates Sesengel and Jesslyn De Leon added 17 and 13 while Sarabeth Ksano led the scoring fray for the Kryptonite with 12 on the losing end.

The tournament enters the playoff round with Smooth Riders taking on Odesangel Islanders tonight at 6 p.m. Other playoff schedules will have to be finalized by the organizing committee and will release it within the week.

A total of six teams are seeing action in the tournament namely Odasangel Islanders, Kryptonite, Peched, Money, Nationals and Smooth Riders.
