Winners take all in FBL Division Finals

It will be a close fight this Sunday as Game Three of the best of three Division Finals tips off in the Filipino Basketball League (FBL) at the Palau National gym.

With the series tied at 1-game apiece, Surangel Stars and the Ilocandia Bulls lock themselves in one more classic battle set at 1:30 p.m. The series was swarmed with controversies but Sunday’s game will prove once and for all who is a better team.

The Stars, which managed to level the series with their 112-111 win in Game Two will try to ride on the momentum as they will be led by brothers Leo and Ronald Magcalas, ace scorer Arnold Undecimo, Dines “The Flash” Demate, Rex “T-Rex” de Asis, Ador “The Scavenger” Hilvano, Bong Gayongorza, Ernie “The Tank” Bautista, ZJ “Baby Face” Asido, Anthony Bruzula and Rodel “Think Tank” Flores.

On the other hand, the Bulls are set to give the Stars a run for their money as they will again rely on the troika of Edward Baysa, Marvic Ngchar and RB Dorado for points but they will also be banking on Raul Osias, Joeger Supnet, Ryan Cacho and Dondon Cabasal.

In Division B, both the Rams and Liquid Skyy Dragons have a score to settle as they collide anew at 12 noon. The Rams gun to close the series as they will have Jake Mahor, Ronald Reyes, John Lloyd Corpuz, Alvin and Jhun Magcalas, Ronnel Dato and Marty Lumigis.

Meanwhile, the Dragons will have brothers Dovie and Leomar de Jesus, Kim, Ninoy and Vic Agsalud, Gomer Miguel, Jun Bautista, Rene Bautista, Jerome Castillo, Bogs Sanchez and Sonny Aliposo with Ricky Erese as playing coach.

Awarding ceremonies will be done immediately after the games. The Filipino Basketball League (FBL) is under the supervision of the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF).  By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
