Five time AFL Mackay premiership winning Coach, Darren Gwynne
has been appointed Senior Coach of the Swans for season 2010.
Gwynne coached North Mackay
to 5 flags in 7 seven seasons and Swans President, Scot Beynon is hoping he can bring
similar success to the Swans.
With 2009 Coach Peter Pyle unable to commit to the role the
Swans were on the lookout for some one new. Gwynne had just moved to Townsville
and heard the Swans were looking for a Coach. After meeting Club officials the
Swans wasted no time in giving Gwynne the task of turning the Swans from a team
full of promise to a team to be reckoned with.
Gwynne is keen to turn things around at the Swans and knows
what it takes to prepare a side for success.
Professionalism, fitness and the right attitude on and off
the field are all traits Gwynne will instil on those who want to be part of the
Swans quest for glory in 2010.
Gwynne has done his homework on the Swans and is excited at
the challenge of blending the mix of experience and youth at his disposal into
a fierce disciplined outfit.
