17th April The Bear Facts
The 1st
quarter of the senior’s game was some of the worst football I have seen from
our proud club.
Was it that Tigers are
just that much fitter and quicker or were we self destructing?
Big D started the game
better this week but faded the further the game went.
Once again the game
was finished at quarter time, all over.
By half time with a
score line of Tigers 15-10 to Swans 0-0 it was like the big boys playing the
kindergarten. Not pretty.
Brent playing with a
sore elbow shows what is needed from the other players a bit of old fashioned
guts and determination. Adam Ant was showing that the
smallest bloke
out there was having a go and that’s all that can be asked.
After half time at
least we came out and showed some grit although they continued to score easily
and who can blame the defence the way the ball kept coming back at them.
It was a bigger
avalanche than the Thredbo slide.
J always has a dip and
now we have the further news of his injury on Sunday at training, not good.
We wish him all the
best for a speedy recovery but by all accounts that’s not going to happen.
Whisky is courage
personified it was clear that he was targeted by the Tigers and yet he played
on with one arm the coach could not get him off, foolhardy but typical Whiskey.
One nice piece of
player was Leo a nice pass to Whiskey leading and a nice one handed grab. Too
far in between, but good footy.
Max a first year
senior had a crack all day and showed some of the seniors how it should be
done.
Neilo threw his
weight around, Someone needed to.
Where do we go from
here? Well there is only one way up hard work and some dedication to the cause.
Congratulations to
Michael and Reece playing their first senior game and receiving their senior
jumpers before the game.
