On 5th November at the brand new Aerial Function Centre at UTS in Ultimo, the UTS Bats AFC held it's annual Club Presentation evening to present the 2010 top awards.
It was to cap off a huge year for the Club. Starting with winning the Sydney AFL Club Champions Award once again, awarded to the best performing club across all grades in any division, a huge honour and an honour that the club holds very dear as it signifies exactly what this club is about. .
Then of course it was the big one, taking out the Division One Premiership once again, and securing for the first time in the club's short history a promotion up to the Premier League for 2011. With the Division Two side being elevated to Division One too. So we look forward to an exciting year in 2011 as we march into a brand new era for the club's already well respected history.
It was an all out Black Tie red carpet affair at the presentation evening. Unfortunately the pooring rain put a dampner on the start of the evening which resulted in a few of the ladies dashing for cover, actually there were probably more guys than girls dashing for cover and being concerned about their slick hair-do's!
There are some photo's uploaded onto our Facebook Page HERE if you would like to view all the glitz and glamour from the evening. There were certainly some stunning outfits and beautiful people about!
Our MC's for the night was non other than one of the Bat's favourite sons, Jot Lynas, who did a fantastic job of helping to make the night run smoothly. He was well supported by Mr Fox Sports himself, Tom Chadwick, who chimed in with some funny short interviews with the winners on the night. He also put together a hilarious introduction for the night by conducting a preview with his Fox Sports Co-Host about the guys who were the red hot favourites to take out the awards, recorded right at the Fox Sports news desk! It really helped to kick things off with a big laugh.

Topping this year's lists were two big club announcements, with the naming of both John Colbert, the Bat's current President, and also Brett "super coach" Wylie to Life Membership of the UTS AFC! Big congratulations to them both, they have both contributed a life time of blood sweat and tears into what is arguably the best club in the Sydney AFL (well, we think so of course!). Luke McCormack won the prestegious Club Man Of The Year Award too for all his tenacious work around the club in 2011, escpecially after suffering a heart breaking broken arm during the year. While Jot Lynas was awarded the President's Award and Philip Bredin took out the Club Leadership Award for his fantasic leadership and spirit on and off the ground during the year.
Last and certainly not least, Club Captain, Alan Kymantas capped off a brilliant year by taking out the Best & Fairest for the Divison One Premiership winning side, a very very popular win indeed!
