A great start to the season for the RMS Curra Swans with a double win over the Lions at Harrold Phillips Oval and a great function on Saturday night.
The main game shaped up as an even contest early with the improvement in the Lions evident from the start. The first quarter was hard fought with both sides having plenty of scoring opportunities but our accuracy of 6.1 to the Lions 4.5 gave us an 8 point buffer at quarter time and although the Lions tried it was the closest they would get. A 7 goal third term secured a first up win for our seniors by 51 points.
Bradley Jamieson proved why the faithful at Muldoon Oval want to see him play Senior footy with 5 goals. Liam Gordon was rewarded for a great effort with BOG recognition, Sam Raumer, Nathan Wescombe, Adam Moore and playing coach, Adam McDonald all put in solid performances.

In the early match our Reserves played the best game we have seen from our “Magoo’s” in a long time. Contested footy, right options, control the play, talk and discipline were all not just talked about but executed in a manner that would do any senior side proud. The end result was a resounding win, increasing our lead at every change to chalk up an 88 point win. Glenn Clarke led the way with 7 big ones up front and was well supported by Leo Lahey, Mathew Palmer, Tom Currie, Kynan Isokangas and a big wrap for young Jaydon Preuss playing his first game with the big boys.

The two wins put the Swans on top of the ladder in both grades for the first time in a long time.
Only round 1 but small steps and milestones along the way are all part of progression.
More volunteers are desperately needed to support our players across all teams. So if you can lend a hand please do.
Numbers on the raining track are steadily improving but there is still room for more. Any old or new players thinking about having a kick are most welcome at Muldoon Oval, home of the RMS Curra Swans
