The Avoca Football Netball Club wish to congratulate the following girls for reaching their milestone games this Sunday when we play Dunolly at Deledio Park Dunolly.
Lucy Walkley – 250 games.
Lucy has been an outstanding contributor to the club since first playing back in 1999 in the under 14’s.
She has played in three junior premierships and three A Grade premierships along the way and has also been the recipient of many awards including three A Grade club Best & Fairest Awards, and two junior Club Best & Fairest Awards.
She also has the distinction of winning the MCDFNL A Grade Best & Fairest Award in 2009.
Lucy has been a willing helper over the years with junior coaching roles and shared the coaching duties of the 2005 Under 17 Premiership with sister Sarah, and is coaching the A Grade girls this season and we wish her well this week for her milestone game.
Well done Lucy!
Colleen Soulsby – 250 Games
Colleen first played way back in 1989 and has had a couple of breaks with children duties along the journey, but has returned to the fold in recent years and while still playing is also now concentrating on coaching roles in the B Grade and Under 13 girls.
She has played in three junior premierships in 1989, 1990 and 1993 and played in a Reserves premiership team in 1994.
She had an outstanding season in the B Grade team in 2011 which saw her rewarded with the Club B Grade Best & Fairest Award.
Colleen has been a very active member for the netball girls over the years and we congratulate her for her ongoing service and wish her well this Sunday.
Well done Colleen!
Sally Wardlaw – 150 games
Sally joined the club in 1993 and immediately had in impact when she was a member of the Reserves grade premiership team of that season.
She was promoted to the Senior grade team the following season and became one of their most outstanding players which was evident when she received the Senior Grade Best & Fairest Awards in 1996,1997 & 1998.
Sally returned to the fold again last season and was one of our better players in the B Grade team and will this season be a driving force as the girls look to take out the elusive B Grade premiership.
We wish you well for your 150th game this week Sally and hope you play many more.
