Attached is the flyer for the upcoming film event to help raise funds for the Avoca Medical Centre. The Lease was signed yesterday and a GP is eager to start. We just need to raise these funds to renovate the building.
Support is growing very quickly for the Film Event on the 5th October. I thank all those who have responded and put their hand up to help out in some capacity.
I would especially like to thank the following people for their generosity so far:
- Craig Wilson and the team at the Pyrenees Advocate. Craig is kindly going to print out the coloured flyers free of charge. I encourage all to support Craig and the Paper as it always delivers up to date local news and events and is a fantastic resource for our community. Website http://theadvocate.net.au/
- Donna Wardlaw from Bloom Creative Design for designing the flyer free of charge, Donna does great work for anyone needing any graphic design such as wedding invitations business cards etc. Website: http://www.bloomcd.com.au/
- Avoca Coin Laundrette for committing funds to for costs that may incur. Steve and Karen are huge supporters of the community so I thank them also for their generosity.
- Casablanca Movie Group for donating the movies, projector, tickets etc. The Casablanca Movie Group is very keen to work with local community groups and charities to help raise much needed funds for great causes. They are also looking to sign up members for approx $20. Should they get enough members they will be looking to screen movies at the Avoca Town Hall once a month. This would be a great form of entertainment for the community for those who cannot get to the likes of Bendigo and Ballarat to see the movies.
Tickets will be on Sale as of this afternoon and can be purchased at the Avoca Newsagent, Avoca Hardware and the Avoca Community Bank. We will also sell them on the day but with limited seating available I would urge you to pre buy your tickets to secure a seat.
I have spoken to ladies health auxiliary who look set to organise afternoon tea, I am just waiting on final confirmation. There is also talk that we may be able to supply icy poles on the day for the kids.
There will be a Dutch Auction after the 3:30pm screening of the Sapphires, We currently need some items to be donated to be put up for Auction. They can be gift vouchers, a service or a tangible item. We are hoping for at least 20 items. If you have something you would like to donate please contact me.
Once again the response has been fantastic and it is great to see so many coming together for such a great cause.
Should anyone have any questions or issues regarding this please don’t hesitate to contact me
Kind regards
