It was a massive day of women's lacrosse this weekend at Chadstone Lacrosse Club - with games from U13 girls all the way to State League. While most games in the fixture were between western suburb clubs, the Women's B Grade was fought out between neighbouring clubs Chadstone & Malvern It was a tight game contested with great spirit and sportsmanship.
Chadstone scored early with 2 goals - but Malvern settled to equalise with the score being Chadstone up by 1 at the end of the first half. The second half was intense and the fight for the ball from the centres was fierce. Chadstone managed to score a 3 goal buffer through a more settled attack and through their experience and great coaching by acting coach Sarah Nobbs held the ball in their attack for the final two minutes to run out victors 12-9. Goal scorers for Chadstone were Linda Ho 5, Erin Mullner 4, Jenny Kilsby 2 & Sally Daniel 1. The home ground victory caps off a remarkable season for this the premier womens side for Chadstone Lacrosse Club.
