Curra Swans have been dealt a savage blow ahead of their biggest day of the home and away season.
The Swans will do battle in this weekends clash with neighbours and fierce rivals Hermit Park for the annual Eric Johns Cup without two of their best players and both are gun midfielders.
Co Captain Jason Drew and fellow ball winner Tyson McNeil will both be missing from the vital clash and will be sorely missed by the Swans who are still smarting after their last start draw with the second placed Bulldogs.
The Swans have been forced into six changes for the match and while missing two of their on ballers they will get back hardman Dave Anspach (suspension) and ruckman Dylan Bycroft. Tom Madsen also returns along with Yen Shibasaki who earned a recall after starring in the Reserves last outing. Under 17 player Kyhle Goodman also gets another chance to impress.
Eric Johns Cup Day is played each year between the Swans and Tigers with all grades from Under 13 through to seniors competing in a best of 5 format. Put simply the first club to win 3 games on the day wins the cup.
The Swans are yet to win it and are keener than ever to get their hands on the silverware. The Tigers must be favourites to win the U13 and U15 matches but the undefeated Swans should take out the U17.
The Swans must be a chance in the Reserves after storming home last time they met. A 7 goal final term saw the Swans fall short by a single goal.
The seniors match shapes as a Swans V Tigers classic and there has been many of those over the years.
