Coaching Panel

In 2009 once again Therry will be spearheaded by Dan Madden. Dan Madden Consolidated the teams spot in D2 last year and Therry believes he is the man to lead Therry up the ladder and rejoin A Grade in years to come. He will be assisted by Tony McCauliffe, a former player and coach of Therry and Shaun Rava.

The Reserves will be coached again by James Saunders. James came within 3 points of winning a flag in his rookie year as coach. He has a solid list he can build on this year and hopes to go one step further.

Therry U/19's will be once again looked after by Rod Egglestone. After a solid 2008 season which saw a finals appearance Egglestone is confident of significant improvement in his brigade.

Warriors evergreener will be lead once more by Bob Lyons. He has extensive experience at this club playing well over 400 games. He will be assisted by his partner in crime Dean Boden.

And finally, 'the new kids on the block' team U18's will be coached by former Carlton listed player Steve Gumley. Steve has had numerous playing experience and will bring much experience and leadership to a side Therry Penola is very excited to have. Barney Ratcliffe, former player at Therry will assist Steve in his endeavours to win the last game in Sepetmber.

The Victorian Amateur Footbal Association

Thery Penola Old Boys play in the long established VAFA competition whose member clubs are situated throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area. The Association uses a promotion/relegation system where the top two clubs are promoted and the botom two clubs are relegated each year. This system is unique to the VAFA and ensures fierce competition in every match throughout the season. Two field umpires control games and strict order-off and melee rules are enforced.

The Club Song

It's a grand old flag
It's a high flying flag
It's the emblem for me and for you
It's the emblem of the team we love
The team of the maroon, gold and blue
Ev'ry heart beats true
For the maroon, gold and blue
And we sing this song to you
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
Keep your eye on the maroon, gold and blue
