Code of Conduct

Your coach and team rely on you doing your best to make playing the game successful and enjoyable.

It is expected that players and parents will adhere to the following Wattle Glen Breakers Basketball Club Code of Conduct.

Players:

  • Respect the referees’ decisions and treat the opposition the way you would like to be treated.
  • Your coach and team manager are volunteers. Treat them with respect, listen and do what they ask to the best of your ability.
  • Attend ALL training sessions, if you can’t make it, contact your Team Manager.
  • Get to the games at least 10 minutes before the game is to start.
  • At games you are required to wear your full uniform, including a mouth guard.
  • During the game be a good sportsperson and play by the rules. Do not bring your team, Clubs’ name or yourself into disrepute. Continued bad behaviour is unacceptable and will be dealt with by the coach and possibly the Committee if need be.
  • Work hard for your team and for yourself. Play to learn and to have fun.

Parents / Guardians:

  • Registration fees are paid prior to the season starting at the nominated registration date advised by the Club and that your child has a complete uniform, including mouth guard.
  • You and your child treat the Coach and Team Manager, who are volunteers, with respect at all times.
  • Be a great ‘sports parent’ - Support and positively encourage your child and team at each game as a ‘parent’, not as the coach.
  • Your child arrives at the game at least 10 minutes before start time. Contact the Coach or Team Manager if you are running late.
  • Your child plays as a good sportsperson, respecting the decisions of the referees.
  • You take your turn at scoring as directed by the Team Manager. Please do not leave it up to the same person each week.
