The Australian Everton Supporters Club in Conjunction with Everton FC were able to organise several special functions for its members. One of these was a question and signing session with the players and coaching staff on Tuesday night at the Marriot hotel in Sydney. Places were limited with up to 200 people invited. As a member I was able to secure two tickets to the function.

The coaching clinics for girls established by the Stingrays are providing so succesful, numbers have had to be capped at 100. The support and reponse has been overwhelming and we are humbled by all the positive feedback and the obvious strenght of women's football in the area.

Friday 25th June saw the Stingrays take their training to Tahmoor for the evening. An invitation was given to local clubs to come and watch or participate in the training session. Approximately sixty youngsters took up the opportunity. We were blown away by the response, and already having signed some talented players from the area we knew there would be plenty more on show.

Sam Muscat sets new club record scoring 10 goals against Southern Division

The Illawarra Stingrays senior squads went on a goal scoring spree winning 14 nil in Reserve grade and 10 nil in First grade this weekend. Sam Muscat set a new club record scoring 10 of her side's 14 goals, no wonder they call her 'smiley'.
The Junior grades were less lucky unable to convert the same number of opportunities with losses to the U12's and U16's and a win to the U14's.

The Biomechanics Reseach Laboratory at the university of Wollongong is conducting a 12 month research study to find out if the adolescent growth spurt affects the coordination of girls when jumping and landing.

Football NSW celebrated the culmination of the 2009/2010 Futsal season with a spectacular awards night held at the Bankstown Sports Clubs' newly furnished Grand Ballroom.
Amongst them was our Kristina Janeska who took out the Super League U14 Girls Player of the Year and Highest goal scorer with the Taipans.

This weekend sees not only the Stingrays compete at home in Round 1 of the Arrive Alive NSW Women's Premier League, in a first for the region this will linked with Rnd 1 of the Football South Coast Women's League Association Cup.

This year sees a dramically different local Women's league structure with the introduction of a tiered competition and Over 30's teams.

Ash Connor makes sure Stingrays over power Victorian Champions

In an exciting game on Friday night the Illawarra Stingrays overpowered the Victorian Premier League champions Box Hill 3 - 1 on Friday night. Ash Connor was able to slip a goal pass the Victorian keeper and Matilda's Captain Melissa Barbieri before Barbieri was injured. This was followed up by another to Connor and one to Sam Spackman. A great lead into the first round next Sunday.
