Well Done Dunolly!
Sunday was a day of mixed emotions. Proud to be in a grand final, sad to go down by just nine points. The team must be congratulated on the season’s performance. From near the bottom of the ladder last year to a grand final is a magnificent effort. You have given your supporters a lot of excitement throughout the year.

The idea of compiling a 2009 year book.
The idea of compiling a 2009 Yearbook was really an attempt to document the fantastic efforts of the Dunolly Football Netball Club during the season. The task was certainly made easier by the great articles that Bluey put in the Welcome Record every week. “I don't think anyone at Dunolly is under any illusion that to move up the ladder will take anything other than hard work. D-Mac put into place this year a much improved work ethic around the club and this resulted in a better win/loss ratio than seen in many a year. Should the club be satisfied? - Absolutely not.

Today is the culmination of a good year for the Dunolly football Netball Club. Our senior football team has had a better year than previous years and many clubs can see that Dunolly has taken the first step in the right direction. McNamee and Sanders in Dunolly's top job.
DUNOLLY Football Club's newest coach is returning to his roots. James McNamee will coach the side in the 2009 season and hopes to rebuild a club that for several years has been placed at the lower end of the Maryborough and Castlemaine District Football League ladder.

The Wanderers Link
Dunolly has developed a link with the Wanderers Eagles for 2009 and beyond. Co-coach James McNamee played 6 home and away games with them and is still up there as they have come from 4th to a Grand Final berth this weekend. He's been playing well for them netting 8 votes (top 10) in the League B&F out of a HFF/On ball position.

Shannon Motlop will play for Dunolly in 2009
The 30-year-old North Melbourne premiership player has signed for a 10-game cameo with the Dunolly Eagles. A surprise withdrawal from the Territory Thunder QAFL squad because of injury, Motlop will play his first game for Dunolly on April 17.

Tattooed Ray “Razor” Heffernan looks a pretty tough bloke. But he’s got a soft spot for the Dunolly Football Club. AHMAT JOINS EAGLES
DUNOLLY will this Saturday unveil its prized mid-season recruit - former Collingwood and Sydney AFL livewire Robbie Ahmat. Dunolly coach James McNamee confirmed yesterday Ahmat would line up for the Eagles in their home clash at Deledio Reserve against Talbot in round 11 of the Maryborough-Castlemaine District Football League.

REUNION A GOLDEN SUCCESS!
After one of the largest crowds in decades witnessed Dunolly put on a great display of football to defeat arch rival Carisbrook by forty points on Saturday, another great throng descended on the Town Hall for the Golden Era Reunion.

Dunolly caps fightback.
AMONG the stories in the sports pages in the August 2 edition of The Advertiser in 2004 was an article on the Dunolly senior football team. Such were the struggles the Eagles were enduring, the fact they won just an ordinary home and away game was big news.

has put in a stellar performance to defeat Avoca in the Maryborough Castlemaine District football Netball League A Grade Netball Final 53 to 45.

Newstead outlast Dunolly to be kings of the MCDFL for 2009!
Newstead are Premiers for 2009 after defeating Dunolly in a close encountering the Grand Final of the Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League. A massive crowd was in attendance and enjoyed the encounter that could have gone either way right up to the final siren. Newstead won the toss and kicked to the band rotunda end.
