This is my fourth year as President of this outstanding Football Club. I am a very proud Life Member and I have been on the Board for almost fifteen (15) years but as I was City Engineer employed by the City of Werribee for twenty (20) years from 1974 to 1994 I have always had a very close association with the Werribee Football Club. I have seen the Football Club remain a very competitive Club over all of that time but the Club is now very much stronger in Management and in its Financial status. My wife, Pauline and I very much enjoy being part of this great Club and through our Company, The Nicol Group, we are proud sponsors of the Werribee Football Club"

I played in Under 19's in Werribee's first year in VFA in 1965 and progressed to seniors the next year. I left to play at Clarence in 1971 and returned to play under Bruce Burgoyne in 1977.
I joined the Board under Bruce Montgomery in 1991. At Bruces "request" became runner for Leon Harris, then a number of years as Chairman of Selectors under Donald McDonald, and finally Alistair Clarkson. I retired from Board when I became GM of Patrick Automotive, and returned at the behest of GregWelsh in 2003 as Finance Director. " Banga" is a Club Legend and is the games record holder. It just woiuld not be Werribee without him.

My portfolio is capital works. The work that the Club has done in transforming Chirnside Park into the magnificent venue we are seeing develop today is testament to our committment. I became involved with the Tigers when i was transferred to Werribee with work in 2005.. With my previous position, I had the good fortune of attending many AFL games, where I got to follow my home team of Geelong. With the transfer i was heading up the highway to Chirnside Park instead of Skilled Stadium. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into at first, but the fit became very evident early in the relationship. I soon became hooked on the atmoshphere and the community involvement within the club. It wasn't long at all before the team at Werribee meant too much to me to walk away from, so I joined the Board.

I have been watching the Werribee Tigers since the mid 80's, and attended the 1993 Grand Final, including the aftermatch at Centenary Hall. Along with my wife, Julie, became statisticians at Werribee in 1997. I had the privilege of winning best clubman in 1999.Since then, I have done the stats for the Victorian team against SA in 2004, and the winning side of 2006 against WA.
In 2006 I was greatly honoured to be presented with life membership, and in 2007 decided to join the board. My aims at the club are to see Werribee win another flag while I am still able to do the stats, and to bring back as much history and pride so that we can display it in our clubrooms, to show all other clubs how proud we are to be Werribee Tigers.
