Some `not so' new faces at the Tigers for 2007
The Werribee Football Club is pleased to announce that former players Rod Macpherson and Jeremy Dyer have returned in coaching roles for 2007.
Rod played with Footscray and the Brisbane Bears and was a member of the 1993 Werribee premiership side. He also has extensive experience in the TAC Cup with the Bendigo Pioneers and has coached premierships in three different competitions.
Jeremy is a Life Member of Werribee, having played more than 100 games. Since playing at Chirnside Park, he has been playing and coaching in the Geelong League, where he has won three Best and Fairest awards and played interleague under fellow Werribee assistant Troy Mitchell.
Rod and Jeremy are both thrilled to be back in familar territory.
Rod said of his return "It is exciting to be back at Werribee Football Club. I have fond memories of my time there from `91 to `93. My friendship with Axe (Simon Atkins) goes back a number of years.
One thing I am most proud of in my footy career is a very strong background in finals football. Simon has identified the need for Werribee to lift its performance when the big games present themselves. I want to help the players and the club reach their full potential."
Jeremy is pleased to be involved at VFL level again.
I came back to Werribee for the opportunity to be involved at this level and to work with Axe and Steve Kretiuk and most importantly to take the club that one step further than I could as a player."
Rod will be involved as assistant coach looking after the midfield players. Jeremy is assisting Steve Kretiuk with the Reserves and the development of the younger players on the list.
Senior coach Simon Atkins is excited about the return of Rod and Jeremy to the club.
Two harder workers you would not find in their playing days and they will both challenge our players to be the best they can. That is a real bonus for the 2007 season.
