The Tigers notched up its second win on the trot, backing up a fantastic win against Collingwood two weeks prior with a hard-fought 17 point victory over the Hawks at Box Hill City Oval.
Nathan Thompson booted six and the midfield worked tirelessly in a performance that pleased coach Simon Atkins.
"As coaches we’re always looking for perfection, in that second quarter we just went off the boil a little bit with the way we went about some key points.
Apart from that I thought the consistency was reasonably good," he said.
With Brent Renouf injured early in the piece, the Tigers were able to dominate the hitouts, winning them 57-37.
Kangaroo Todd Goldstein had a sensational game in the ruck, and kicked three exciting goals to boot, not going unnoticed by the coach.
"‘Goldy’ had the opportunity once Renouf went down to really control the game of football.
"I think you talk about consistency, with a couple of goals and 41 hitouts, he was really good," Atkins said.
Box Hill led by three points at quarter time and by two at the long break, but it was a thrilling five-goal-to-two third term which set up the win.
The Tigers won the premiership quarter and carried a 19-point advantage into the final term, and despite a hotly contested finally quarter was able to hold off the Hawks.
Werribee moved the ball quickly and efficiently through the in-form Michael Barlow and Leigh Adams, who had one of his best games for the Tigers.
"My game plan hasn’t changed in four years, we’ve just got to consistently try to do that to win the ball, move it with speed and be direct.
"I think he’s on the top of his game at the moment, Barlow.
"[Adams] It’s probably the best game I’ve seen from him, he was quick, he was clean with his skills, he should be able to push forward from here," said Atkins.
The other impressive aspect of the win was the pressure applied by the Tigers, resulting in 72 tackles.
"We’ve been keen to rotate our back six because they do a hell of a lot of work.
Werribee 2.4 8.4 13.10 17.11 113
Box Hill 3.1 8.6 10.9 14.12 96

"That’s one thing we’ve been able to do, get eight or nine blokes through our back end… I thought our back six have been able to put emphasis on our opponent’s forward structures," Atkins said.
Next week Werribee will face a formidable opponent in Williamstown at home, who thrashed them earlier in the year.
Atkins admitted the Gulls would go into the game as favourites.
"They’re the team to beat, they’re the form team, they kick a lot of goals and obviously we have to try to stop that," he said.
