The morning started off with a chat about the children’s favourite teams and how they fared on the weekend, then quickly moved outside for warm up games, including scarecrow tiggy, rats and roosters, octopus and handball tag. As the day progressed the kids were taught how to use the correct techniques for kicking, handballing, tackling and bumping.
The specky machine was inflated during lunch; food was the last thing on their mind once they realised what was outside awaiting them. A line was formed and soon kids were jumping up taking incredible marks.
After all the excitement, a couple of modified football matches were in order for the kids to show off their new found skills.
Following the modified matches the kids were greeted by North Melbourne players and had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the AFL stars.
All the children took on the challenges thrown at them and got really involved in all activities.
It was a great day had by all.
