The Oakleigh Chargers secured fourth spot on the TAC Cup ladder with a hard fought win over Dandenong in wet conditions at Warrawee Park Oval on Saturday. The scores were close all day with Oakleigh taking the lead early in the last quarter when Dylan Vizzarri goaled in the forward pocket. The Chargers then held out the Dandenong Stingray with desperate defence, with the ball locked in Dandenong’s forward half for much of the last quarter. The final score was Oakleigh Chargers 5.9 (39) to Dandenong Stingrays 4.9(33).
Coach Justin Wenke was very pleased with his player efforts, “We won most of our statistical areas and were strong around the contest.” Best on ground was Dylan Heath while Patrick Jenkins booted 3 goals and Dylan Vizzarri 2 goals.
The Chargers next travel to Ballarat on Saturday to take on the fifth placed North Ballarat Rebels in a battle of fourth spot on the TAC Cup ladder. Further match detail available at :
