SENIORS – Sponsored by Merkon & the Sandbelt Hotel
With the venue switch doing us no favours this was not a day for pretty football, in fact it was pretty ugly. The boys however got the job done in a fashion that was as clinical as you could ask for. The Commissioner patrolled and controlled the stoppages all day whilst Willow and Heater were again brilliant. Lewy returned which gives us more avenues to goal & Dawsey showed how confident he has become this season by pulling off a running bounce which actually came back to him… one I’m sure that Dennis Commetti would have described as ‘ambitious’. This week’s clash against Cheltenham will be a great warm up for the finals.

This was a day when you needed a 4WD to plough through the atrocious conditions. Wheels got stuck in the mud and Big Ben McCarthy had to tow him out. Players struggled to hold their footing and simple kicking errors mounted up through the day. Glenny Balmforth who has become of the most respected players & skippers at the club showed the way by continually putting his body on the line and ran hard for the 4 quarters. Nicho, Prewy & Jack Kreymborg powered through and were as clean with their skills as you could ask for. This week we are keen to stamp some authority over Cheltenham who embarrassed us in our first meeting.
COLTS - Sponsored by Premium Painting & Bar 9T4
It was a ripping effort to be in front at quarter time against a quality opponent. Our boys put their heads over the footy all game and made it a great contest. If we can keep repeating the effort and tidy up the disposal we could do some damage come finals. Matty Blee stood out and has the ability to take us deep into the finals if he really gets going. Two of the Colt’s big improvers this season have been Jeremy Muldoon & Carl Herbstreit who both stood up again.
