St Paul’s club legends Robbie Prew chalks up 300 games whilst Heath Barnes plays his 200th
Prewy started way back in 1992 and was long regarded as a player who had all the skills to play at the highest level. He was named in our team of the decade on a wing and has won 5 club B&F’s. A man of few words, Prewy has always let his football ability do the talking for him. Prewy’s style has been a unique combination which is rarely seen. Toughness and sublime skills don’t always go hand in hand, but this evergreen veteran has brought that mix to 300 games.
He combines a ruthless attack on the contest with a sidestepping ability that gets him out of heavy traffic. He is brilliant below his knees, an uncanny reader of the footy and has provided Doggies fans with 20 years of great memories.
Heath’s list of footy achievements is equally impressive. He was named captain of our ‘Team of the Decade’. Heater has forged a place in the hearts and minds of Doggy & SFL supporters as the spiritual leader of the club. He has the ability to influence every contest with 100% commitment. This strength of mind has elevated him into a rare category and courage and skill are his greatest assets. He finds time and space were others can’t and bleeds red white and blue. Along the way he has collected 3 club B&F’s and spent 6 seasons as an inspirational skipper.
